ABSTRACT:Every vehicle has its own emission of gases, but the problem occurs when the emission is beyond the standardized values. The primary reason for this breach of emission level being the incomplete combustion of fuel supplied to the engine which is due to the improper maintenance of vehicles .In order to reduce the emissions there are many great opportunities around the globe to reduce conventional pollutant emissions from automobiles(bikes ,LMV,HMV) with positive effects on air quality and public health. The main aim of the review is to get knowledge on pollutants occurred due to incomplete combustion in both SI and CI engines and about emission strategies and the technologies introduced to control emission
