Abstract:Today, one of the problems faced by most other cities and towns is the decline in environmental cleanliness in the management of garbage. This is due to the garbage collection's mismanagement. This mismanagement generates the rapidly spread of community garbage, which in turn creates in the immediate area unhealthy condition. This also stimulates in close proximity many serious diseases among people and degrades the area's beauty. Garbage monitoring system is designed to avoid garbage mismanagement and improve the cleanliness of society.This project proposes the implementation of a Garbage Management System for GPS and GSM based garbage and waste collection using GPS and GSM technology to provide real - time information on the status of the garbage bins, i.e. when they are complete so that appropriate action can be taken. The level of the garbage is detected in the proposed system using an ultrasonic sensor and the system notifies the person (Truck Driver) in charge of garbage collection by sending a short message (SMS) and telling them where exactly the full bin is located.The system again notifies the Central Office after some time that the message has been sent to the driver and help him to find out shortest path. Ultimately, this development will save a lot of time, especially if there is no need for the council to go and check the waste level in the bin. Furthermore, due to timely garbage collection, it will prevent timely garbage overflow. In other words, the council will only collect waste when it is time to do so, rather than when half-full bins are collected routinely.
